1. Who we are
Tabibuk (tabibuk.net) is a free medical knowledge platform for Arabic speakers and the data controller for the data described here. You can contact our privacy lead at any time at privacy@tabibuk.net.
2. What we collect
- Anonymous tool usage: the numbers you enter into a calculator and its result, with a random session ID generated in your browser. No name, email or IP address is stored with it. We use it only to learn which tools are most useful and to improve them.
- Contact form: name, email, enquiry type, message and date — used only to reply. Please don't send health details through the form.
- Newsletter: your email, your name if you give it, preferred language and sign-up date. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Consultation waitlist: if you click “Notify me” on a doctor's profile, we store the doctor and specialty, your approximate country, and your email if you choose to give it (optional).
- Doctor applications: identity and contact details, qualifications, licence number and issuing authority, headshot, licence document and short bio, used to verify credentials. Once approved, the public profile shows only what the doctor agreed to publish. Licence number, phone and email are never published.
- Analytics: Google Analytics measures overall visits, device, browser, approximate country and pages viewed on our site.
3. What we don't collect
Personal health data linked to your identity, payment information (everything is free), or your browsing history on other websites. We do not sell personal data.
4. Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Consent: the newsletter, the waitlist, and non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising). You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: replying to your messages, anonymous tool statistics, and protecting the site from abuse.
- Steps before a contract: reviewing doctor applications and verifying credentials.
6. Processors and data transfers
We don't sell your data. Service providers process data on our behalf under data-protection agreements: Google Firebase (database, file storage and doctor sign-in, hosted in Google's Middle East region), Google Analytics and AdSense, and Hostinger (web hosting). Where data leaves your country, including the EEA, we rely on approved safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep data

8. Your rights
Wherever you are, you may access, delete, export (portability), correct, object to or restrict processing of your data, and withdraw consent at any time. Email privacy@tabibuk.net; we reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm you own the email address. Because tool records are anonymous, we can only find them if you give us your session ID. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as Ireland's Data Protection Commission or the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
9. Security
All traffic to the site is encrypted with HTTPS. Visitors cannot read stored messages, subscriptions or doctor data; access is limited to authorised administrators by strict security rules, and licence documents are visible to administrators only.
10. Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you know a child has sent us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add new services. We will change the “last updated” date above and tell newsletter subscribers about any material change.
